The Initial Medical Evaluation

The first visit is where a clinician learns enough about you to decide whether a program is appropriate at all -- and what kind.

A proper initial evaluation covers your medical history, the medications and supplements you already take, prior care you have had in this area, other conditions you are managing, and what you want from a program. The clinician examines you and orders whatever baseline testing they think is warranted. None of that can be done from a form, which is why the length and substance of the first visit is one of the clearest signals about a clinic.

You should leave that visit understanding what the clinician is proposing, why, what the alternatives are, and what they will be watching for. Some programs include prescription medication and some do not; whether any of it is appropriate for you is a clinical decision made by a licensed clinician who has examined you, not something a website can tell you. We do not discuss medications here at all.
